View MoreProduct Overview Aluminum alloy power cable uses AA-8000 series aluminum alloy material as the conductor, manufactured using advanced special compression technology, annealing treatment, and interlocking armor processes. Compared with ordinary pure aluminum cables, aluminum alloy cables incorporate iron, copper, silicon, magnesium, rare earth, and other elements, and undergo special annealing treatment to significantly improve the drawbacks of pure aluminum conductors — poor creep resistance, low tensile strength, low conductivity, and poor connection reliability. Aluminum alloy cables have been developed and used in the United States since 1968, with a market share of 80% in North America, and have been proven through decades of practice to have never experienced any failures. China, as one of the world's largest producers and users of power cables, has also seen rapid development of aluminum alloy cables, with multiple national standards now governing their production and application.

Product Structure
1. Conductor: AA8030 series aluminum alloy (containing iron, copper, silicon, magnesium, rare earth). Manufactured by continuous casting and rolling of aluminum alloy rods, then drawing and annealing, twisted into a compact structure with a fill factor above 95% — far higher than ordinary copper cables (80%), effectively reducing cable outer diameter.
2. Insulation: 90°C cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), converted to a thermoset material via silane or peroxide cross-linking, significantly improving heat resistance, aging resistance, and service life. Does not release corrosive or toxic gases when burning. Medium-voltage models include conductor shielding and insulation shielding layers (triple extrusion).
3. Armoring (optional):
- Double steel tape armoring (22): High-strength; withstands significant pressure; suitable for direct burial.
- Aluminum alloy interlocking armoring (62/HS): Self-locking structure; resists external forces; lightweight; flexible; corrosion-resistant; prevents insect and rodent damage; high flame-retardant grade.
- Steel wire armoring (32/33): High tensile strength; suitable for vertical installation.
4. Sheath: Eco-friendly PVC or LSZH material with good corrosion resistance and flame retardancy. Flame-retardant grades available: ZA/ZB/ZC.

Main Performance Advantages
1. Conductivity: 61.5% IACS. For the same ampacity, aluminum alloy requires 1.5x the cross-section but weighs only half.
2. Creep Resistance: 3x ordinary aluminum, equivalent to copper. Ensures long-term stability of electrical connections.
3. Corrosion Resistance: Aluminum forms a thin, firm oxide layer on contact with air. Rare earth additions further improve electrochemical corrosion resistance.
4. Flexibility: 30% more flexible than copper; spring-back 40% lower than copper. Minimum bending radius is 7x cable diameter.
5. Environmental Performance: Significantly lower carbon emissions than copper during production. Insulation and sheath use eco-friendly materials.
VI. Application Scenarios
1. Building Engineering: High-rise residential shafts, commercial complex floor distribution, large venues.
2. Renewable Energy: Wind power tower fixed installations (60%+ of wind cable costs); photovoltaic AC-side grid-connection cables; energy storage systems.
3. Infrastructure: Metro tunnels (fire-resistant models withstand 950°C); airport terminals; historic building renovations (min 7x diameter bending radius).
4. Industrial: Petroleum/chemical (acid/alkali resistant; UL1685 vertical flame test); mining (service life up to 30 years); shipbuilding (passes 5000-hour salt spray test).
5. Power Systems: Distribution networks or industrial installations with rated voltages up to 35kV.

Note: Per GB 50217-2018 Power Engineering Cable Design Standard, cables with voltage above 1kV should not use aluminum alloy conductors. Careful evaluation is required when voltage exceeds 1kV.
Installation Notes
1. Connectors: Must use dedicated copper-aluminum transition terminals. Apply lubricating oil or anti-oxidant compound to prevent electrochemical corrosion in moist environments.
2. Minimum bending radius: 7x outer diameter.
3. Armoring selection: Steel tape armoring for pressure resistance; aluminum alloy interlocking armoring for lightweight and pest resistance.
4. Laying temperature: >= 0°C.
